With a full moon and a pretty strong breeze out of the northeast, I didn’t have much confidence in this being too great a day on the Columbia – wrong. Paterson smallmouth turned it on for me today. A lot of really nice smallies. Best five at 21.3. Reaction baits (red/copper) in 2 to 4 ft. A couple of 3 lb largemouth to boot. Only about 18 inches visibility, so bouncing crankbaits off the rocks was all that was needed. I need to quit predicting catches based on weather and just go fish.

Paterson slough continues to put out some quality smallies. Good, but very spotty. Water temps in mid 50s, but clarity still around a foot to a foot and a half.
